Tiger by James McFay [Movie Trailer]

Tiger by James McFay [Movie Trailer]

Have you ever heard of this film, Tiger? It's a story of two lonely models who fell in love in Japan.

I need to see this film and I can't wait to get the DVD in the mail. Support indie filmakers and buy the DVD by clicking HERE.

Speaking of Tokyo, there's a chance of me going back to Japan for a few days later this year. I don't have specific dates but it's gonna be around December.

Found this video of the Marc Jacobs Japan Independence Day party last week. I truly had lots and lots and lots of fun that night. Thank you!

Blink and you'll miss me.

Sing after me...

Get yourself to the butterfly lounge, find yourself a big lady. Big boy, come around and there we're gonna do baby. No need to fantasize since the words are my praises, a watering hole with the girls around and curves in all the right places.

That's all.

Pardon. Je suis désolé.

Pardon. Je suis désolé.

Yes I know. I'm currently backblogged big-time. Excuse me as I play catch up. I dislike (hate is a very strong word) reminding people constantly that I'm ***still*** a solo act. You know, a one-man circus/independent operation. People often ask me if I have a manager or an assistant. Why? I don't know. Crazy. In any case, the answer, as some of you already know, is a big, fat NO.

Anyhoo, I'm enjoying a bit of me-me-me time so expect quite a number of blog entries from yours truly over the next few hours.

Some are new, some are a few days (or perhaps a week or two) old but I'm glad to share bits and pieces of all the good -- and horrible -- memories I had recently.

Sit tight.

Herbivore Men in Japan

Herbivore Men in Japan

Man I love Japan!!! Is this what they call them nancy boys with the effeminate touch? Herbivore men?

From CNN:

They are young, earn little and spend little, and take a keen interest in fashion and personal appearance -- meet the "herbivore men" of Japan.

Typically, "herbivore men" are in their 20s and 30s, and believe that friendship without sex can exist between men and women, Fukasawa said.

Watch this video. First one to spot the Margiela t-shirt shall win a kiss from me on the cheek and an oreo cookie.

If these boys are ONLY interested in personal appearance and NOT interested in sex or money, what does that make me, someone who is interested in ALL three, you know, a sleazy internet perv who wants you to show da cashmoney to buy a boatload of bags and clothes and hats and shoes and gloves?

Gay Asians Herbivore Men in Japan

Just sayin'.

PS. I bet you most of those herbivorous men log on to Superfuture...

Commons&Sense and Commons&Sense Man Japan Spring Summer 2009

Commons&Sense and Commons&Sense Man Spring/Summer 2009

Remember what I told the folks over at Dolce & Gabbana/Swide when they interviewed me last week how fashion magazines are the new coffee table books? Well, a huge "care package" arrived on my desk yesterday and Kaoru Sasaki, the lovely and generous Editor-in-Chief of Commons&Sense and Commons&Sense Man Japan (who I met during my trip to Tokyo), sent me the Spring/Summer 2009 issues of his magazines.

Outside John Lawrence Sullivan Fall/Winter 2009

Outside John Lawrence Sullivan Fall/Winter 2009

How funny. A few people have been asking me whether this trench is from Lanvin and I'm always like "uh no, not Lanvin, I don't have money for Lanvin.... it's from the friggin' GAP!"

Speaking of Lanvin, OMG you guys, remember the leopard-print clutch I've been lusting for weeks now? Well, I went to this super cool and super luxxe store in Tokyo called RESTIR. Anyway, I saw a beautiul silk Lanvin trench in the same Spring 2009 leopard print but guess how much was it... 658,000 yen or about US$6,600. For a plain silk trench, no embroidery or beadwork, just plain, plain, plain lightweight silk trench coat. I'm no stranger to sticker shock but man, that was really scary. Enough about expensive things or else I'm gonna cry now.

I took a few snaps after the John Lawrence Sullivan show. Click click click!

How true is this? White House - AMP Japan

How true is this?

How true is this? There are no such things as strangers. Only friends that we have not yet met.

I saw that on the door of an accessories shop called "White House AMP Japan" at the back of Laforet in Harajuku.

Isn't it sweet?

Magnificent Marie at Adelaide Tokyo

Magnificent Marie at Adelaide Tokyo

Sometime last week, my new friend Marie brought me to the Adelaide store for a little bit of shopping. Marie is a very famous model/celebrity in Japan and we met earlier in the week while shopping along Omotesando. I was like, omg who's that gurl, she's soo pretty! Then we bumped into each other at a party in Le Baron de Paris when she was about to leave the club, that's when we became friends. Next thing you know she took me around the shops.

I took a snap of her working a Marc Jacobs Collection jacket (which I thought was very cute) and a pair of Balmain jeans.

Birthday Wishes

Birthday Celebration at Le Baron de Paris

I can't even remember the last time I had a birthday party. I think it was about three or four years ago, I'm not sure. In any case, it's always nice to celebrate your birthday surrounded by great old friends and amazing new acquaintances. I had a little surprise birthday celebration at the Commons&Sense Magazine + A Shaded View on Fashion party at Le Baron de Paris. As my favourite style icon Diane said, I sure did get the 'rockstar treament'.

Baby Mary of Faline, Jun Takahashi of Undercover, my dearest Yoshiko, the fabulous Yuya, the iconic Diane Pernet, Yoshiko of Yoshiko Creation Paris and of course, Shun (of Vogue Hommes Japan) in the background -- I can hear your voice!

Thank you so much to everyone who made my birthday special. Tokyo rocks!

Balmain Spring 2009 Sandals

Balmain Spring 2009 Sandals

You know, the first thing my dad told me when I woke up on Monday morning last week just four hours before my light for Tokyo was "Bry, a FedEx cargo plane exploded in Narita airport so you need to check with the airline company whether your flight is delayed or not."

My response: OH NO THEY DIDN'T!!!!!

But not because of my flight. I was scared because my friend Lauren bought a pair of those precious Balmain shoes and they were on their way to Tokyo!

Can you imagine how devastating it would be if you've been saving (or in my case, STARVING) for weeks then your $2,000 Balmain spring/summer 2009 sandals blew up with other cargo? I would probably die!!! The sandals arrived in safe hands though -- thank god for UPS.

Ikebukuro Cemetery

Huff, Puff, Click, Clack

You know you are in real Tokyo when you walk IN THE CEMETERY at MIDNIGHT just to go to your friend's house. That's exactly what I did last night. After a night out in Aoyama, I took a cab to be dropped off at the nearest subway station where my friend lives. I forgot my friend's address, my phone died and I don't speak Japanese so I can't give instructions to the taxi driver so walking from the subway station was the best option. What was meant to be a 3 minute walk turned out to be a long late night trek cause I couldn't find the bloody cemetery.

I was wandering around Ikebukuro when I saw this white guy walk on the street. I wanted to ask him for directions but I hesitated cause he might be a tourist so I was like ok whatever. As he got closer, I looked at him, he stopped, did a double take and looked at me so what the heck, I went up to him and asked him where the cemetery was. Lo and behold the response was "hey aren't you bryan? you're the one with the blog?"

He helped me out and walked me to the entrance of the cemetery. I thought that was nice. Since he lived in the opposite direction, I went to the cemetery alone. My friend's house was just around the corner. I took this video because I was sooo scared. I'm not scared of being raped... you can't rape the willing. I was scared of ghosts!!

Whoever you are Mr. Stranger, thank you for rescuing me.

Tomorrow I'm moving to Shibuya. Yay!
