Video Outtakes: Style Magazine Singapore

Video Outtakes: Style Magazine Singapore

Well, the secret is out of the bag. As some of you already know, I did a quick shoot for Singapore's Style Magazine and my solo editorial will come out in a few weeks. It's gonna be awesome I'm telling you. I did several looks... girls, boys (there's this GREAT scene involving a banana but I don't think it's gonna get published), mixed and everything in between! I'm so excited...and nervous at the same time! I hope I'm capable of giving good pictures. Hah! Here's a quick video of me trying to WERK one of the looks for the camera. The key word is TRYING. LOL.

Trust me, getting the right shot for that look was harder than I thought. My legs are so short, stumpy and thick. Ugh! Sometimes I wish I was 6'2 but oh well. Nothing I can do about that...

More details to follow ;)

Play - Lesbian Club Singapore

I went out on Thursday night with some of Singapore's lovely fashion bloggers. I wanted to have a quick dance before I go to sleep so we ended up at this club called "Play". Most of the gay clubs were closed but that's Singapore for you.

Anyway, the bouncer let us in for free. Natch! I was wondering where all the guys were... turns out, it was a lesbian night! I only realized this after 10 minutes of dancing and I saw chicks snogging on the stage!

It's all fun and good. It's quite interesting (and refreshing) though to go to a lesbian club especially in this conservative city/state. I mean, correct me if I'm wrong but I don't even think there's a lesbian night/club in Manila and we have what, 14 or 15 million people in the city? That's the third world for you.

Good on ya Singapore!

Theseus Chan

Theseus Chan

It was great bumping into (and meeting, albeit very briefly) Theseus Chan. He's a very well-respected individual in Singapore.

Theseus Chan

Theseus is the Creative Director (and owner) of WORK Advertising, a design studio and advertising agency. He's a friend of Rei Kawakubo and he owns the Comme des Garçons Guerrilla store in Singapore which runs until January of next year.

I visited the store at Mount Sophia because the studio where I had a photoshoot was located on the 2nd floor of the building. Lucky me -- but not so lucky. My visit lasted less than 3 minutes because we had to work the shoot. Hopefully I'll visit the store again before it closes. I promise to take photos the next time around.

At Hermès Singapore

At Hermès Singapore

Here's what happened at the Hermès boutique at Orchard Road.

While looking for purple and violet silk scarves and twillys, a very nice American woman came up to me admiring my brooch. She tried a couple of silk pleated plisse scarves and she couldn't decide which colour to get. I told her to get the one in the seafoam green versus the black one. Good choice, she thought. Apparently it was her original selection/favourite colour. A few minutes later, her husband went up to me and gave me his business card. He wanted me to email him who made my brooch -- my friend Ciara Serumgard.

Turns out, the American couple are from Florida. They're staying at the St. Regis and they must have bought a TON of things because I overheard him instruct the store staff to deliver their purchases to the hotel.

Iceland's financial system crashed, the Australian dollar hit a low (funny how it was almost 1 to 1 back in April of this year and now Aussie is CHEAP!!!) and the DOW closed at 8400 yesterday. And here you've got a lovely American couple shopping at Hermès. Recession? What recession?

Amazing eh?

I need a Russian. NOW!

Sorry Singapore!

Sorry Singapore!

I thought I'd extend my apologies to all the lovely Singaporeans who contacted me the past few days. I know many, many, many of you wanted to meet me, especially my long-time readers who have been following my blog back when I started. We organized this trip at the very last minute; I wanted to keep things professional and just focus on what I came here for... which you'll find out very soon. I didn't even want to blog about the trip but I'm the type of person who couldn't keep his mouth shut. Y'all know what I'm like.

Anyhoo -- I've met so many wonderful people and I know there are TONS more to meet so here's my promise -- I'll be back sooner than you think! I'll definitely announce it on my blog in advance. We could do a real "meet and greet" at a pre-determined place (NOW WHO WANTS TO SPONSOR IT? haha jk). It's gonna be fun!

I'll keep you guys posted but for now, again, my sincere apologies to my Singaporean readers. I *know* you guys understand and there's always next time!

I love you all.

Ra-ra-ra Ruffles

I found this super cool shop called "Rusty Buttons" in Haji Lane earlier this afternoon. I love what they do to plain white t-shirts but more on that later. I got this cute white ruffled tee among other things.

The weather here is awful! It's so hot/sunny one minute then it's gonna be super rainy the next. Anyway, so I went to Takashimaya and Ngee Ann City here in Singapore.

Look at what I found:

Action Salon, The Paragon, Orchard Rd Singapore

Action Salon, Singapore

I went to Action Salon at The Paragon for a quick haircut and trim. I took a couple of snap sAFTER shampooing while waiting for my super adorable and talented stylist Junie.

Action Hair Salon at the Paragon in Orchard Road, Singapore

Time to say goodbye to the bowl cut!

Action Salon was quite nice. I swear to god I had the best shampoo session earlier. It was a ritual of the ladies (Garfield ??) gave me this amazing neck massage for at least 10 minutes. I was in heaven! That alone was worth the trip to Action. No wonder expats favour that place.
