Giorgio Armani x Samsung Galaxy GT-I9010 Phone

Giorgio Armani x Samsung Galaxy GT-I9010 Phone

The very kind and generous folks from Giorgio Armani gifted me their latest mobile phone just days before I left for NYC. The timing could never have been better because my newish Blackberry Bold crashed on me literally the same day I received the phone. Such life eh? I truly believe everything in this world happens for a reason.

Bye Bye, Blackberry

Bye Bye, Blackberry

Here we go again. Another city, another item lost. There has to be a logical explanation why I keep on losing items in every city I go to. It just keeps on happening! I really do think I'm cursed. I need to figure out the way to break from this spell.

Here's a photo of me that Alexey took on his Blackberry. You better WERQ those poses like there's no such thing as tomorrow.

Remember how I bought a new Blackberry Curve before I left for Russia less than two weeks ago? Well, I've left that phone at Yotel in Amsterdam the other day (my 2nd stay there). I've contacted them and they're not being cooperative. They say they couldn't find it and they've alerted their staff.

I checked out at around 12:00/12:30 noon just in time for my 2PM flight. I know I left my phone in my room because I wanted to make a phone call just when I boarded the plane to let my family I'm on my way back but alas, my phone wasn't in my bag.

So here I am, phone-free once again. It's like the 1,000th phone I've lost this year. I think I'm gonna stay away from cellphones for awhile. This is just ridiculous. I don't want to pay a couple of hundred dollars just for me to lose it again. And again. And again.

If people want to contact me there's always email.

It's kinda sad because I've extended my plan contract with my cellphone carrier for 2 years just for me to get a new phone and now the damn thing is gone, I'm like paying for nothing.

Blackberry vs Nokia

Blackberry vs Nokia

As you know, I've lost my phone (yet again, third phone lost this year and it's only May!!!) last week. I'm a Nokia girl by heart but heaps of my friends own a Blackberry.  I bought a cheapy cheapy Curve (it's a free phone; I just had to extend my contract for 2 more years with my phone company blah) a few days ago so I'm not incommunicado to the world.

It's been three days and I can't, for the life of god, access Twitter on the Twitter for Blackberry app. Ubertwitter is the same thing. I'm getting network errors.

Oh and please don't tell me I should've gotten a Bold or whatever is the latest Blackberry unit out there. I've been told that Smart Communications in the Philippines doesn't even have that phone! I would if I could but no Corazon, shit's not available in the TURD world!  In fact, I had to call people and wait days just to get this Curve. According to them, they've sold out of Blackberry units.

This would NEVER happen to a Nokia phone. I want a Nokia hu hu hu...

Nokia E71 Phone

My younger sister felt sorry for me for having a crappy, prehistoric mobile phone so she gifted me a new Nokia E71 this Christmas. You see, I'm not really the type of person who likes to be obsess about the latest electronic gadgets. I'll obsess about fashion and accessories, yes, but not phones or what have you. To me, a phone is just a phone -- a tool to communicate with people. Why should I have the fanciest mobile phone when I mostly communicate online? OK FINE I'd love to own that Vertu Boucheron 150 made out of solid gold but who's gonna buy me that? Also, many of you know my relationship with phones. I've gone through far too many phones over the years (some broke down on me and some were lost, let's not even go to the RAZRs etc) but I still end up with my crusty but trusty old Nokia.

Geriatric phone no more.

I love how I can browse websites, go on facebook, check my emails, chat on skype, msn messenger, yahoo anywhere as long as there's some sort of a wi-fi internet connection. Trust me - it works. I can now do all that while taking a poo in the toilet without risking myself with electric shock by using my laptop. I'm also trying to figure out how to do it using my mobile service provider in the event there's no wi-fi. I tried to send a few emails last night while I was out and for some reason it didn't work. Boo hoo.

But yeah... hello 21st century. Yeehaw!

PS. I'm gonna try to see if I can post on my blog using my cellphone. Oh my god you guys can you imagine the opportunities?

Nokia/WOM World Targets Fashion Bloggers for Luxury Phone Trial

Nokia/WOM World Targets Fashion Bloggers for Luxury Phone Trial

Nokia, via WOM World, recently invited me several weeks ago to try one of their luxury phones, namely the Nokia 8800 Carbon Arte. I replied to the email just the other day, lo and behold DHL delivered the package earlier this morning.

I was wondering how or why I was cherry-picked to do the trial considering my blog barely talks about tech issues or gadgets. However, based on my initial research on google blog search, it seems that fellow fashion bloggers The Fashion Assistant and Her Camera (UK), Dapper Kid (UK), Louis Vuitton Addicted (Australia) and Bagaholic Boy (Singapore) were also invited and they have already received their Nokia 8800 Carbon Arte phones before me.

Don't you think it's a very bold move for Nokia to reach out to fashion bloggers and courier them high-end phones for a free trial? Interesting.

Unfortunately, I don't get to keep this £1,000 (or approx US$1,700) baby. I have two weeks to try the phone out before I courier it back to London.

I'll keep you guys posted over the next few days with my review.
