You And Me Separated By A Sheet Of Glass

You And Me Separated By A Sheet Of Glass

All it takes is a sheet of glass to separate someone from the rest of the world.

Valentino Snow Leopard

Valentino Snow Leopard

While the bf shopped Brooks Brothers the other day, I went to the Valentino store across the street and bought this amazing leopard-print hooded and zipped rain coat/mac. I got it on sale at 60% off. It's quite fabulous, too. The amount of stares and glances I get from people just by walking the streets of Boston rendered the whole 'cost-per-use' justification system totally irrelevant.

The Arch-nemesis

What would you do if your arch-nemesis is lurking around within six feet from you? These photos are probably some of the funniest ones I have from this trip. There I was, innocently smoking outside and the bf took a candid snap.

Match Me If You Can!

Match Me If You Can!

One of my readers here in Boston, Emily, generously gave me tickets to the Museum of Science.

Me and the bf went there a few days ago and boy, we had fun, fun, fun! It's like we're thirteen again! This installation got us occupied for quite some time.

Enormous Breakfast

Enormous Breakfast

Took a quick video of our breakfast earlier this morning at Whole Foods. The BF is flying back to Stockholm later this afternoon while I'm heading out to Brazil.

I've been told it's gonna be 37-40 degrees celsius in Rio de Janeiro. Although I'm looking forward to Brazil, I don't think I'm ready for the heat. And I'm certainly not looking forward to swimsuit season. With the way I ate the past few weeks, oh my lord Jesus Mary Joseph, I'm so out of shape... I don't think I can get rid of this winter weight in the next 2 days.

Wish me luck!

Nine Zero Hotel, Boston [my extraordinary stay]

Nine Zero Hotel, Boston

As someone who often stays at hotels in different parts of the world, it's very unusual for me to feel emotionally attached to a property. My stay at my temporary home in Boston, the Nine Zero hotel, has got to be one of my favourite and memorable hotel stays so far.

Union Oyster House, Boston

Union Oyster House, Boston

I find my carnivore of a boyfriend's personal food mantra fascinating: if he has to fight with his food (pretty much anything that goes beyond slicing with a knife/picking up with a fork), he doesn't want it. Case in point -- his idea of a regular, fail-safe meal: entrecote. With that being said, it's a good thing he's very open to trying new culinary delights otherwise, I wouldn't know what to do with myself if I were to restrict to his usual meat-rich, dietary preferences.  Y'all know me... I like to have a bit of a balance from all food groups: meat, vegetables, carbs, seafood, etc.

Speaking of seafood, a trip to this part of the USA (aka New England) wouldn't be complete without paying homage to its glorious seafood -- oysters, clams, lobsters, etc. We've been eyeing this place called "Union Oyster House" (after passing by it almost every day) so we went there yesterday for lunch.

Imagine A World...

Imagine A World...

I popped by the New Enland Holocaust Memorial here in Boston earlier this afternoon. They have all these quotes from holocaust/concentration camp survivors on these glass panels. Out of all the quotes, this particular one stung.

"Ilse, a childhood friend of mine, once found a raspberry in the camp and carried it in her pocket all day to present to me that night on a leaf.

Imagine a world in which your entire possession is one raspberry and you give it to your friend."

Speechless.

Bryanboy Goes to Harvard University [pictures and photos overload]

Bryanboy Goes to Harvard University

Elle Woods isdatchu? Harvard is, without question, one of the most prestigious academic institutions in the world. People groom their kids to go here from day one. It must be a true privilege to be educated here; this university is not for everybody. Not only you have to excel academically, you're also required to have an extraordinary access to financial resources. Blah blah blah, yaddi yaddi yadda.

Meritage Restaurant, Boston

Meritage Restaurant, Boston

How did you celebrate New Year's Eve? After coaxing my very handsome and dashing boyfriend not to shave for days (I like this whole stubble look on him), I asked him to put his suit on so we can go have dinner somewhere 'nice'. As newcomers to Boston, we relied on word of mouth and the internet to find a special place. Some restaurants were fully booked weeks in advance so we ended up at this cute restaurant called the Meritage at the Boston Harbor hotel.

Remember my poor Marc Jacobs sunglasses that I've lost in Singapore last year? Y'all know how I love and adore enormous sunglasses so imagine my delight when these Karen Walker "Butler" sunnies arrived a few days ago. I bought them from Shopbop just before Christmas.

Boston Sunset

Boston Sunset

When we went to Paris back in July, me and the boyfriend would often watch the sunset at our favourite spot at the river Seine, overlooking Notre Dame, with a bottle of rosé. Here in Boston, our view from our room on the 18th floor of our hotel was magnificent. I took this candid shot of the boyfriend as he attempted to open the bottle of zinfandel our hotel sent us.

I love this feeling of being in love.

I must say it's also worrying. Whenever I'm with the bf, my whole world stops. Literally.

It's good for my personal life, however, it's not so good for my business.

Boston Granary Burying Ground

Boston Granary Burying Ground

Stockholm last week, Boston this week. After four stressful days of delayed flights, flight diversion, baggage delays and other cross-continental stress, me and the boyfriend finally made it into Boston. Our hotel is right in front of this amazing place called the Granary Burying Ground, one of Boston's oldest cemeteries.
